Miss America pageant crowns 2012 winner
The 2012 Miss America was crowned Saturday night (Jan. 14) in Las Vegas – Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler.
Miss Oklahoma competed in the Miss America 2012 competition on ABC on Saturday night. She was a fan favorite early on, but did not end up winning the crown. Betty Thompson was the runner-up for the night. She made it to the finals as America's choice.
Miss Wisconsin, 23-year-old Laura Kaeppeler, was named Miss America 2012. Her platform is mentoring children of incarcerated parents.
